Why Understand Fate Reading? Seeing Through Common Wisdom
Why understand fate reading?
Because fate reading is a discipline that dispels illusion and points straight at what is real.
Much Common Wisdom Isn’t Quite Right
Watch other people’s lives long enough and you’ll find that many of the rules you took for granted aren’t entirely right.
For example: hard work always leads to success; dare to want it and you’ll get it; past marrying age it’s hard to find a partner who is both well-off and good-natured; when an opportunity comes you must seize it; wait until things are a bit more stable before deciding; emotional stability is what makes people succeed — and so on. This kind of common wisdom.
This common wisdom often isn’t right, because among my cases there are many people who found a very good match at forty, and people who rose in social class not through hard work but through being recognized, through luck.
You may think these are all outliers, but in fact there are quite a lot of cases that overturn common sense. If you don’t believe it, think back over all the stories you’ve heard in your life — reality overturns common sense more than any prime-time soap opera.
What Fate Reading Dispels Is Illusion
And fate reading is what dispels these illusions. It looks at the world again with a rational eye, and you’ll find that the road to success sometimes really isn’t the one in front of you, but the overlooked one beside it.
A Chart That Overturns Common Sense
So that no one takes the above as chicken soup for the soul rather than a personal reflection, below is the chart of a woman who, against common sense and with no warning, met a husband worth over a hundred million and married him the following year, at forty — offered as a partial clarification. One feature of this chart is that marrying too early would actually have been bad.
Because her natal Partnership Lord, Saturn, is accompanied by the Descending Lunar Node and meets the Ascending Lunar Node, its Shadow Regent, had she married earlier she would likely have married badly, or been caught up with a married man.
At 39 she entered the Wall Mansion (壁) period — a Water mansion — which checks the Descending Lunar Node, and Mercury as 天貴星 meets the Sun: the husband is strong. At 40 her Annual Advancement fell in 辰, meeting Jupiter, which checks the Ascending Lunar Node. With every Discordant Star unfavorable to love held in check, she married that year.
