Challenger Star
難星
The relational role of a star that controls the Stellar Regent — the pressure or constraint the self must contend with.
A Challenger Star (難星) stands in the "controls me" (克我) relationship to the Stellar Regent — the Five-Phase role of the force that constrains, pressures, or tests the self. It is the relationship from which difficulty, and the capacity to solve it, arises.
It is one of the five star-relations classifying every planet by its Five-Phase relationship to the chart's ruling star: Benefactor (generates me), Expression (I generate), Conquest (I control), Challenger (controls me), Peer (same phase). These are relational roles reassessed per chart, not fixed planetary natures.
The Challenger Star shares a root with the Challenger Archetype (難格): when the Imprinting Star is a Challenger Star, it shapes the problem-solver personality — the one who reads the world through how things happen and how they can be resolved. "Challenger" is chosen so the star family does not collide with the Adversity Palace.
