The relational role of a star that the Stellar Regent generates — the outlet through which the self expends and expresses energy.
An Expression Star (用星) stands in the "I generate" (我生) relationship to the Stellar Regent — the Five-Phase role of the outlet the self pours energy into. Where the Benefactor Star gives to the self, the Expression Star is what the self gives out.
It is one of the five star-relations that classify every planet by its Five-Phase relationship to the chart's ruling star: Benefactor (generates me), Expression (I generate), Conquest (I control), Challenger (controls me), Peer (same phase). These are relational roles reassessed for each chart, not fixed planetary qualities.
The Expression Star shares a root with the Expression Archetype (用格): when the Imprinting Star is an Expression Star, it shapes the self-referent personality — the one who reads the world through their own inner state and output.
