Four Shadows

四餘

Four calculated astronomical sensitive points — individually called Shadow Regents — representing hidden, non-mainstream forces.

The Four Shadows (四餘) are four calculated astronomical sensitive points used in Eastern Classical Astrology alongside the Seven Regulators. They have no physical bodies — each is a mathematically derived virtual point.

Individually, they are called Shadow Regents: non-orthodox counterparts to the planetary Regulators, governing forces that are hidden, socially unconventional, or operating outside mainstream visibility. Unlike the Regulators, which govern what is manifest and sanctioned, Shadow Regents govern what is suppressed, esoteric, or operating beneath the surface.

| Shadow Regent | Chinese | Astronomical Basis | |---|---|---| | Lunar Apogee | 月孛 | Moon's orbital apogee point | | Ascending Lunar Node | 計都 | Moon's ascending node | | Descending Lunar Node | 羅睺 | Moon's descending node | | Ethereal Benevolence | 紫炁 | Calculated point with lunar projection affinity |

Note: Gold (Venus) has no Shadow Regent in this tradition.
